Choose a Route
How will you get to British Columbia? It is a long distance, and requires a voyage abord ship. Given to you are a number of choices. You can:
reach it using the Overland route, that requires a ship from England and traveling across the whole continent of North America. It could take many months to get there.
take a ship to the Colon, take a train across the Isthmus of Panama, then board a ship headed for San Francisco, and get to Victoria in four weeks, or
seek passage on a ship that journeys all the way around Cape Horn at the tip of South America. You could be aboard that ship for four or five months!
You want to get to BC as soon as you can, so which route would be the quickest?
