"Taking a steamer or a sternwheeler is the easiest way to get to the Cariboo.

Remember that Victoria is on Vancouver's Island, and is surrounded by the ocean. We must cross a body of water called the Strait of Georgia to get to the Cariboo.

Therefore, we cannot walk to Fort Langley and the Cariboo!
